Stock Checker

1. Information we collect

When you sign in with Discord, Stock Checker receives and stores the minimum Discord profile information needed to provide the service:

• Discord user ID
• Discord username or display name
• Discord avatar reference, when available
• Your selected alert preferences
• Your subscription status
• Service timestamps needed to maintain the subscription and session

Stock Checker does not request your Discord email address and does not request permission to list or view your other Discord servers, channels, friends, or message history. As part of sign-in, Stock Checker may add your Discord account to the official Stock Checker server.

2. Discord sign-in

Stock Checker uses Discord OAuth to authenticate you. The app requests the identify scope to retrieve your basic Discord identity and the guilds.join scope to add your Discord account to the official Stock Checker Discord server.

The guilds.join permission is used only for joining the Stock Checker server. It does not give Stock Checker permission to view or manage your other Discord servers, channels, friends, or message history.

OAuth uses PKCE and a state value to protect the sign-in flow. Discord access tokens are used only for authentication and the server-join process, then revoked after the sign-in exchange. They are not stored as long-term Stock Checker credentials.

Discord is a separate service. Information processed directly by Discord is governed by Discord's own terms and privacy policy.

3. App sessions and security

After sign-in, Stock Checker issues an app-specific session token so the app can access your subscription settings.

• The Android app stores its session token in encrypted app-private storage protected by the Android Keystore.
• The server stores only a cryptographic hash of the app session token, not the raw token.
• App traffic to the Stock Checker API uses HTTPS.
• Session tokens expire and can be revoked when you sign out.

4. Alert preferences and Discord notifications

Stock Checker stores which supported categories you choose to monitor.

When a matching stock change is detected, the service may use a Discord bot to send a private DM to the Discord account associated with your subscription.

You can unsubscribe from all alerts in the app. Signing out of the app does not automatically unsubscribe your stock alerts.

5. Service operation

Stock Checker uses backend services to authenticate app sessions, store subscriber records and preferences, and support the stock-alert service.

Technical request information may be processed as part of operating, securing, and troubleshooting the service.

6. Advertising, analytics, and tracking

Stock Checker does not include third-party advertising SDKs, behavioral analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking.

The service may use operational server logs for reliability, troubleshooting, abuse prevention, and security. Stock Checker does not use those logs to build advertising profiles.

7. Referral links and external websites

Some stock notifications or related app information may contain referral links. If you choose to open one, your browser will take you to an external website.

A referral may provide compensation to support the service without changing the price you pay. Stock Checker does not receive your payment card details.

Once you leave Stock Checker, the destination website's own terms and privacy policy apply.

8. Data sharing and selling

Stock Checker does not sell personal data.

Data is shared only as needed to operate the service, including communication with Discord for authentication, joining the official Stock Checker server, and DM delivery.

Stock Checker does not share subscriber data with advertisers or data brokers.

9. Data retention

Subscriber information and alert preferences may be retained while your subscription or Stock Checker profile remains active or as reasonably needed to operate and secure the service.

Expired or revoked session records and expired OAuth transactions may be deleted as part of normal service maintenance.

Unsubscribing disables your alerts but does not necessarily delete the subscriber profile used to identify your Discord account.

10. Data deletion requests

You may request deletion of your Stock Checker subscriber profile and associated stored subscription data using the contact information provided in 14. Contact.

Reasonable verification may be required to confirm that the request relates to your Discord account. Once verified, the associated Stock Checker subscriber data and active app sessions can be removed from the service.

11. Children's privacy

Stock Checker is not directed to children. The service does not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children beyond the limited Discord identity and subscription information described in this policy.

If you believe a child's information has been provided to Stock Checker, please use the contact information provided in 14. Contact so it can be reviewed and removed where appropriate.

12. Google Play and your device

Your operating system, app store, browser, Discord, or an external website you choose to open may process information under its own privacy policy. Those services are separate from Stock Checker and are not controlled by Stock Checker.

13. Changes to this policy

If Stock Checker's data practices or features change, this Privacy Policy will be updated to reflect those changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will also be revised.
